Dental radiography, known as X-rays (X-rays), is a radiography, i.e. dental imaging systems, used to analyze hidden tooth structures, malignant or benign formations, bone loss and bone gaps.
Two types of imaging are performed: intraoral and extraoral.
Periapical Imaging: Periapical radiography is performed to evaluate the periapical structure of the tooth and the surrounding bone.
Bitewing Imaging: Bitewing imaging is performed to analyze the crowns of the posterior teeth and the height of the alveolar bone relative to the cementoenamel junctions, which are the boundaries on the teeth that separate the crown from the root of the tooth.
Occlusal Imaging: Occlusal imaging is performed to examine the bony or pathological anatomy of the floor of the mouth or palate.
